Real Estate as a Rewarding Side Hustle for Women Over 50

Many women use their 50th birthday as a time to take stock of their life and perhaps make some changes.  Now, more than ever, people turn to entrepreneurship in the second half of their life.  Many see real estate as a great new career or as a lucrative side hustle.

Experience

You might find real estate to be the perfect career at this point in your life for a number of reasons.  First, you have the problem-solving ability that is honed through life experience.  Closing a real estate transaction often comes down to solving various problems.  Often, they are not real estate problems – just general problems.  At an earlier point in your life, some of these problems might have been overwhelming.  But now, with the benefit of a lifetime of solving problems, it’s easier.

Flexibility

Other women find the flexibility of real estate appealing.  Maybe you want the ability to take a quick overnight trip without having to request vacation days from the boss.  Or maybe you want to start the work day at 10am because you enjoy exercising in the morning.  This is why many people love working in real estate.  You can work on your schedule.

Work-Life Balance

The flexibility also extends to how much you work.  Some women choose to make this their full-time career.  They grind it out all day, every day.  They measure their success by the amount of transaction they close and how much money they make.  Other women have other commitments – maybe their children or grandchildren, maybe volunteer work, maybe some hobbies.  They fit real estate around their other activities.  They measure their success by the relationships they build in the process.  The industry allows both types of women to be successful.

If you are looking to start a new career in real estate, at whatever stage of life you are at, Demetree School of Real Estate can help.
