Let’s say you woke up today and your To-Do list included: spend time with kids, study real estate, run to the grocery store, and change filter on the air conditioner.  I’ve talked to hundreds of real estate students, and I’m convinced that the order of priority for most of them would be: spend time with kids (because it’s important), run to the grocery store (because it’s a necessity), change the air filter (because it’s quick and easy), and if there is time, you study real estate (because it is boooooring).

I would recommend that priority be: real estate, kids, a/c filter, grocery store.  I know that it makes me a horrible human being to recommend real estate come before your kids, but here’s the thing… You need to do the worst thing first.  Of this list, I think most people (even me) would say that real estate is the worst on the list.  Study real estate for at least an hour.  Then play with your kids as a reward.  Change the a/c filter, then go to the grocery store.  If you are completely out of food, you will find a way to fit that in, so do the a/c filter first.

In the whole scope of your life, learning the material for the Florida real estate exam might not be your number one priority.  If your make it your number one priority for the next few weeks, you can start a career that will benefit the other priorities in your life.
